Subverting
the Constitution in High School
by
Alan Caruba
Parents
of high school students would be well advised to look
at We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution,
a book that is the federally-mandated text for what
these students learn about the founding and
fundamental principles of this nation. Some fairly
lonely voices, like my own, have been saying that not
only has our educational system been deliberately
“dumbed down” to produce students ill-prepared to
compete in a complex society and world, but that it is
being used to mislead and corrupt a proper
understanding of our political system. One would
hardly think, however, that the people doing this
represent our own government. Wrong. They do.
I
learned about this while reading Fed Ed: The New
Federal Curriculum and How It’s Enforced,
written by Allen Quist and published by the Maple
River Education Coalition (The book can be purchased
from EdWatch, 105 Peavey Road, Suite 116, Chaska, MN
55318; 952/361-4931; www.edwatch.org/fed_ed.html.)
Quist
raises a very important question.” Why,” he asks,
“should the federal government be involved in
authorizing and subsidizing the publishing of a high
school textbook?” All others are privately published
and compete for use in schools, but We the People
does not. Moreover, only one non-government
organization was given the contract, the Center for
Civic Education. Since Congress did not set up any
review process for the book, there is no way to know
how accurate it is, or whether it has a particular
bias. Unless, of course, you read it!
“How
can a textbook teach the meaning
of
Constitutional government without
teaching
the Ninth and Tenth Amendments?”
Allen
Quist
When you do, you
will discover that the “self-evident truths” of
the Declaration of Independence have been magically
transformed into mere “ideas” from the eighteenth
century. The message is that it can be cast aside, or
changed in our times. It gets worse, a lot worse. When
this textbook looks at the Bill of Rights, those ten
amendments that are the very heart of the protections
extended to individual American citizens, ensuring
that government cannot run rampant over them, neither
the Second Amendment, nor the Ninth, or Tenth are even
mentioned!
The
Second Amendment, of course, protects the right of
citizens to bear arms. The Ninth and Tenth are called
“reserved rights,” and require the government to
recognize that “the powers not delegated to the
United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by
it to the states, are reserved to the states
respectively, or to the people.” The United States
is a republic composed of separate and sovereign
republics. The ultimate government of the United
States is the people!
Naturally,
Quist asks, “How can a textbook teach the meaning of
Constitutional government without teaching the Ninth
and Tenth Amendments?” And he answers, “It cannot
be done.”
Instead,
this vile and cancerous text exists to subtly subvert
our Constitutional system and our loyalty to the
sovereign government of the United States of America
by teaching students that they are members of a
“global village” and are, in fact, “world
citizens.” As Quist notes, “The book is really
propaganda. It is social engineering, not education.
It is decidedly anti-American and anti-freedom. It is
designed to indoctrinate our citizens into being
willing to give away our national sovereignty and
freedom, and to accept the establishment of world
government, instead.”
“We
have met the enemy, and they is us,” said Pogo.
Well, the enemy is definitely among us, and definitely
in our high school classrooms. It is your child’s
curriculum, and it is time to demand this book’s
removal by writing to your congressmen, your state
department of education, and your local school board.
Let
me make this as clear as I can. The federal government
has no business in determining the curriculum of this
nation’s schools! It especially has no business
underwriting the publication of a book that
deliberately subverts key elements of the U.S.
Constitution.

The
New Religion is Global Warming
by
Tom DeWeese
The
UN finally got what it wanted. The Kyoto Climate
Change treaty just became international law. The
treaty went into full effect with the approval by the
Russian Federation, even without the support of the
United States. Time will tell if and when the treaty
will begin to affect the U.S. economy. What is certain
is that truth and reason had no part in the process.
Global
warming has become a new religion. No one is supposed
to question whether it is a fact. I did in the
December 2004 issue of The DeWeese Report
(“There is no man-made global warming,” Volume 10,
Issue 12). For my trouble I was labeled a “moron,”
a “liar;” one who wants to “blow up the
world,” and just plain “evil”, to name a few
from a mass of mail I received.
In
particular, my article stated that there is no
scientific evidence to support claims of man-made
global warming. I pointed out that there is division
among scientists and that there is no “consensus”
among them. I also reported that there are scientists
who promote political agendas over truth to keep the
grants coming in. And I said that the UN’s 1996
report issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change (IPCC) was edited at the last minute to
remove two very important paragraphs that specifically
said science showed no clear evidence of man-made
climate change. Those were all facts.
Global
Warming is nothing more than a
euphemism
for redistribution of wealth...
Apparently
I’m a moron for reporting them because as one letter
said, “Everyone knows global warming is real.” In
response to these Luddites, I simply present this: A
federal hurricane research scientist named Chris
Landsea has resigned from the UN-sponsored climate
assessment team because his group’s leader had
politicized the process. Landsea said there was little
evidence to justify Kevin Trenberth’s assertions in
October that global warming was responsible for the
strong hurricanes experienced this past year and that
“the North Atlantic hurricane Season of 2004 may
well be a harbinger of the future.”
Said
Landsea in his resignation letter, “It is beyond me
why my colleagues would utilize the media to push an
unsupported agenda that recent hurricane activity had
been due to global warming. My view is that when
people identify themselves as being associated with
the IPCC and then make pronouncements far outside
current scientific understandings that this will harm
the credibility of climate change science and will in
the longer term diminish our role in public policy.”
Landsea closed his resignation letter by saying, “I
personally cannot in good faith contribute to a
process that I view as both being motivated by
pre-conceived agendas and being scientifically
unsound.”
There
you have it. Two kinds of scientists. One standing for
true science based on the facts. The other pushing a
political agenda that says science be damned, our
global religion is at stake.
Global
Warming has become a religion that the faithful have
vowed to follow no matter what the true facts may
show. Global Warming is a theory, nothing more, and
large numbers of scientists around the world are
beginning to question its validity. There is no
consensus of support.
The
fact is the Kyoto Protocol will have absolutely no
effect on climate change, but the faithful demand that
it be implemented anyway, because “we have to do
something.” In 1990, Timothy Wirth, who later became
Bill Clinton’s Under Secretary of State for Global
Affairs said, “We’ve got to ride the global
warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is
wrong we will be doing the right thing…”
Global
Warming is nothing more than a euphemism for
redistribution of wealth from the rich, developed
nations to jealous dictatorships who refuse to allow
their citizens the right to gain their own wealth
through free markets. It’s about political
redistribution from strong, independent sovereign
nations into the hands of a power-hungry global elite
cowering in the United Nations. These are the same
cowardly scoundrels who used to try to rule the world
through global communism. Today they pretend that the
same lies have something to do with protecting the
environment.
The
truth is there is no man-made global warming.
There’s only the scam of an empty global religion
designed to condemn human progress and sucker the
feeble minded into worldwide human misery. I rest my
case. Amen.

The
Pattern Was There
“The
message from the 9/11 hearings is that we’re a bit
slow in connecting the dots --- about 25 years too
slow. It was Feb. 1, 1979, when the dark side of Islam
stepped off a plane from Paris in Iran. After 14 years
in exile, Muslim cleric Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini
had come triumphantly home to establish his
revolutionary ‘reign of virtue,’ an Islamic
theocracy designed to cleanse a nation of what
Khomeini called ‘Westoxification,’ the poisonous
influences of Western culture.
“With
no delay, Khomeini urged a jihad against ‘the Great
Satan’ and supported the storming of the American
embassy in Tehran by student militants. Others
followed in Khomeini’s footsteps, getting ‘new
meaning’ in their lives, getting ‘perfect,’ by
killing Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1981;
killing Lebanese Prime Minister Bashir Gemayel in
1982; bombing the U.S. Embassy and Marine barracks in
Beirut in 1983; assassinating a U.S Navy officer in
Greece in 1983; murdering a U.S. Embassy official in
Beirut in 1984; killing American servicemen in 1984 in
Torrejon, Spain; hijacking the Achille Lauro in 1985;
killing American servicemen in the bombing of a Berlin
nightclub in 1986; blowing up the Pan Am flight over
Scotland in 1988; bombing the Israeli Embassy in
Argentina in 1992; bombing the World Trade Center in
February 1993; attempting to assassinate President
George Bush in April 1993 in Kuwait; murdering
American diplomats in Pakistan in 1995; bombing the
Riyadh military compound in Saudi Arabia in 1995;
bombing the Khobar Towers in Dhahran in 1996; blowing
up American facilities in 1998 in Tanzania and Kenya;
and bombing the USS Cole in 2000. Sept. 11, 2001, was
simply more of the same, only larger.”
